Sneakers in the Wild: New Photo Composites by Carlos Jiménez Varela

Designer Carlos Jiménez Varela continues to impress us with his ongoing series of sneaker photo composites, a personal project that blends his passion for kicks with his sharp photo editing skills. We’ve featured his work on the grid before, and the series just keeps getting better and better.

Carlos starts by photographing sneakers from his own collection in a studio setup. He then puts his leftover Adobe Stock credits to good use, selecting backgrounds that suit each shoe’s personality and color scheme. Finally, he uses Photoshop to drop the sneakers into these unexpected environments at a massive scale, carefully matching lighting and tones until everything clicks.
