Onça Chocolate: Nature-Inspired Packaging by Magno Gavancho Studio

UK-based studio Magno Gavancho combined color, texture and symbolism to craft the visual world of Onça, an artisanal chocolate brand born in the Shetland Islands. Named after the Portuguese word for “jaguar,” Onça embodies strength and sensuality, qualities the studio translated into a packaging system that reflects both the animal’s spirit and the richness of its natural habitat.

The original collection featured a clean, minimal aesthetic accented by bold orange tones, tactile finishes and embossed motifs inspired by the jaguar’s rosettes.

For the 2025 series, Magno Gavancho Studio and founder Michael expanded the Onça story with two new flavour profiles and a special edition created in collaboration with Onçafari, a Brazilian NGO dedicated to protecting jaguars and preserving their ecosystems. This new range introduces vibrant illustrations that evoke the lush biodiversity of the tropics. A refined box format, embossed typography and custom wax seals complete the presentation, underscoring the brand’s commitment to detail, quality and craftsmanship.
