EXIIT: A PC Gaming Console Concept by Jiwon Chu

EXIIT is a sleek new gaming console concept envisioned by South Korean designer Jiwon Chu, with a unique, oval form factor that immediately sets it apart from the angular designs we usually see in gaming hardware.

The right side of the console houses the disc compartment for physical games, while the left side features a distinctive circular vent with an arrow symbol, one of the bold branding touches crafted by Jiwon. The gamepads borrow design cues from PlayStation controllers, like the analog stick layout and the inclusion of a touchpad. While the boxy shape might seem unusual and not super ergonomic at first glance, they seem to have some nice grips for added comfort.

More than just looks, Jiwon created EXIIT to tackle the growing frustrations of PC gaming, like skyrocketing hardware costs and the headache of component assembly. Inspired by the popularity of portable gaming devices like Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch, he wanted to give PC gamers an option that can deliver high-end visuals in AAA titles, while making it an affordable, plug-and-play solution, that’s readily compatible with game libraries from platforms like Steam and Epic Games.
