Live your RGB dreams with the new JSAUX Transparent Backplate for the ROG Ally X

A fun new DYI mod for the Ally X

JSAUX just launched a new transparent RGB backplate that lights up and lets you peek into the internals of your handheld, just like their previous models for the original ROG Ally and Steam Deck.

The Ally X version comes with three lighting effects (rainbow gradient, cycle, and single color breathing), so you can customize it to fit your vibe.

The built-in battery powers the RGB lights for up to 2 hours and charges fully in just 25 minutes. You can even charge it while gaming, whether you’re in handheld mode or docked.

But the new model isn’t just about looks. The kit also includes an aluminum heatsink to keep your handheld cool, as well as black silicone grip covers that match the Ally X’s black body.

The transparent strips on the grips add a subtle glow, softening the LED light for an even cooler visual effect.

One thing that’s worth mentioning is that installing this backplate isn’t quite as straightforward as it was with the original Ally. You’ll have to deal with a ribbon cable, which can be tricky if you’re not used to modding electronics.

If you’re new to this kind of thing, just take your time or ask a friend who knows their way around gadgets to help you out.

The JSAUX RGB Transparent Backplate for the ROG Ally X is now available for $39.99 on their website. If you’ve been waiting to customize and light up your handheld, go ahead and check it out.
