Ayrton Senna’s Legacy Gets a Graphic, Emotional Retelling in “The Truth In Your Eyes”

Ayrton Senna’s story is one of speed, skill and heart, and The Truth In Your Eyes, a new animated short, captures all of that with an imaginative take. Created by agency Asia and Stink Films for Senna Brands, the film is a mix of memory and myth, blending real-life racing highlights with stylized animation to reintroduce the Formula 1 legend to younger audiences.

Illustrator Butcher Billy brings a striking graphic novel energy to the visuals, while director Ricardo Jones builds a playful narrative around some of Senna’s most iconic moments. One standout sequence transforms Senna’s old track rivalry with Nigel Mansell into a surreal chase, with Mansell imagined as a roaring lion. It’s bold and a bit surreal, but grounded by emotion, especially with Senna’s own voice guiding the story, recreated using AI.

Premiering on what would’ve been Senna’s 65th birthday, the film is part of a broader tribute that includes 41 poster artworks, one for each of his Grand Prix victories. The campaign also has a community focus, touring schools across Brazil to share Senna’s legacy with a new generation. It’s a modern tribute that captures both the myth and the man.
